I'm in need of a new skull cap (do they even call them that any more - can't think of another word!) ... thought I would post here for some recommendations.
I currently have an HS1, have done so for about a year, love it.
Had an accident not too long ago, not wearing the hat (not riding, merely grooming but a hoof met head incident!) and I was left with a ridge/lump on my head that doesn't seem to show any signs of going down. Not anything you could visually see unless you were particularly looking for it, but feel over my forehead and its very obvious!
The HS1 was a snug safe fit before, now very recently when I wear it it feels overly tight, and on taking it off I have one big red circle, where said lump is, so its obviously pressing down.
Bizarelly, lump is on front right of my head, when I have taken hat off immediately I get a pressure type headache on the left side of my head and pains in the left side of my jaw.
I'm led to believe gatehouse are fairly circular models, but I don't think a bigger size would be the right way to go as it seems to fit well around sides and back of head.
my "posh" headgear is a charles owen h2000 which is very comfortable, although I don't feel anywhere near as "safe" in that as I do in a sturdy skull cap.
So I'm shopping for new every day hat, would like something as sturdy and safe as the HS1 and ideally a flesh coloured strap too, as I just like the way that looks! (But obviously not a priority!)
Money no object, head worth too much and I do a lot of breaking and lets just say riding "potentially hazardous" horses!
Any recommendations for similar hats that are perhaps more of a suitable shape - please throw them this way!
