Lots of people recommend Mark Todd ones, haven't got them myself, Cavallo nice but expensive!!

I bought some Mark Todd ones Three weeks ago... I already have holes in the crotch & seat.
Same with Shires. Infact almost every pair of jods i own has a hole in it somewhere. I thought it was just me?

I got some cheapies from tescos, I only wear them to muck out and hack in and they've been fine so far and I've had them a good 5 weeks now and wear them quite a lot. They do shrink a bit and get too short but you can't see that when you have wellies or riding boots on!

Gosh, what are you all doing to your johdpurs!? I have a couple of pairs of Harry Halls that have lasted me for 6 years! They are very thick which may help, but they have withstood everything!

Me too! What are you doing to kill your jods so quickly? Even my sister doesn't get through them at that rate & she is kamikaze almost!

Pikeur, I've had one pair for almost a year and I love them so much I only wore those and at Christmas I got a 2nd pair, they are really really lovely, don't shrink, fade, or wear out. I love them

They are about £85 but worth every penny

Perhaps if your thighs are a little on the large side the friction is wearing them out????

Not meant to cause offence but its the main cause of wear up there!!!

Not an answer to any individual but intended as an answer to the original question!!

I'm afraid I'm a part of the what on earth are you talking about clan - last pair I threw out was last year after eventually the waist band gave away from the rest of the joddy and the nail hole in the knee laddered - and I'd had them for a good 6 years and they were 2nd hand to me!!!

echo the what are you doing to them clan!!!

I have several pairs of jodhs/breeches which are many years old. I know for a fact I have a pair of white breeches (which granted are comp only) from when I did some big dressage comps on ponies 10 yes TEN years ago and they are still fine!

Got a few pairs of harry hall jodhs which I wear a lot and they are a good 5/6 years old easy and cost me £10 a pair as were seconds (Right pockets are unusable as badly sewn!!)

Only had two pairs that developed holes, one was breeches from Aldi! Hole is little though were stitching poor quality and I keep meaning to repair them as otherwise perfect. Other pair cost about £8 and I should have known better as broke first time I worse them!!

Best pair I own are by Mears but were sample ones and never went into production properly (didn't stop me getting 4 pairs though

I've got some eurostar ones that i bought in 1993. I also have pikeur, george shumacher and cavallo which are quite old now and i wear them every day for work. I think you do get what you pay for and different makes have different cuts and suit diffetent shapes. I would say from my experience Don't buy horka every pair i've had either the zips have gone or the material has gone bobbly.
