Jodhpur boots or long boots at this time of year?

I am a devoted long boot wearer and got my rubbish jod boots out today, they are a bit small for me anyway but I really find they pinch at the edge of the ball of my foot where the stirrup is, my legs seem to not be touching horse like usual, and my rising trot becomes like a jelly on two pogo sticks, does anyone else find boots actually affecting your riding? My long boots are knackered so need to buy new ones (long and wide calf if the tack shop has an amazonian section).

It's so hot to wear long boots! Does anyone have any recommendations for cheapish ones, a zip seems like a good idea

Would also like some comfy jod boots if I can get used to them!

Jod boots with chaps ar the compromise. My mare sweats so much that jody boots alone leave my leg soaked and itchy.

joddie boots, but have to de-straw and de-hay them on a VERY regular basis.
