Right..so I want to order some jods to come from the UK when family come to visit...sizing is very confusing!

I'm 5'8, and I wear a size 8/32 in normal clothes..
I have some jods from the UK, the kids dublin ones, which are age 16/32..though I'm assuming adults ones won't be a size 32?

I also have a pair of shires saddlehuggers hipsters, they're a 28..fit maybe a little big, and a pair of riders jods somebody bought for me which are also a 28 but huuuuge..
Soo..
26?

Haha, I don't see why they can't just use jeans sizing for people like me who get confused easily

I am 5'8'' and an 8 (but a larger 8 rather than a rakish one if you know what I mean!!) and I find a 26 almost a wee bit generous but can't quite squeeze it into a 24... Would be a 27 waist in jeans...

Sizing is a nightmare with UK, EU and US sizes all different. Johds sizing is based on the inches around the waist and, sometimes, the length of the inner leg. The best way I've found is to measure the waist of a pair you like and just order that size. But you can just measure your waist and do it that way. Different makes can be differently stretchy so there will be a small variation - especially if you like your waist tight.

32" waist is quite big. You sound quite slim so a ladies 26" might be better - possibly even a 24". If you get a child size the legs will be too short! Your hips are probably bigger than your waist - so 28" hipsters might fit your hips but 28" on your waist will be massive - hence the need to drop at least a size if the Johds are on your waist.

Hope this helps a bit.

JustMe22, what waist size are you, measured in inches with a tapemeasure? that is how breeches and jodhs are all measured now and i've found them very accurate tbh.
if you are size 8 you are probably a 24 or 26, i'm a size 10/12 and i'm a 28, fwiw.
