So, now I have a horse I can ride, I figured it was about time I got some new jods...as the last pair I had (that fitted me perfectly) had to be cut off me when I had my riding accident (as did my favourite fleece...!!!

)

My biggest problem is that my inside leg measurement is 36"...and most jods are nowhere near long enough. I can cope with slightly short but not 3/4 length!!

I have tried men's jods in the past and found they are far to deep from waist to crotch... so I either do a 'Simon Cowell' waist band....or...

...it's not a good look!!

I wish I could remember what brand my old ones were... *sulk*

Anyone got any suggestions? I know several brands how "Long" as a size but they never state how long "Long" is!! So personal experiences would be a huge help!!!!

Thanks!!!

Have you tried breeches at all? I have become a recent convert to them and as they are meant to finish mid calf there is more room for adjustment I find.

I do have a pair of them...perhaps they're just poorly made but I found it irritated my leg, so never tried again!!

You make my 34"inside leg seem small. I gave up on jod years ago. Have you tried Ariat breeches? I find these a good fit and wear well.

Dublin used to do jods in long length and with the turn-up turned down they were more than long enough.

hi, try the mark todd range as i have a friend how is 6ft 6 and she wears these. as they are breaches you can fasten them where ever thet come down to and then wear some long socks. she wont use any other brand....

I'll have to find a saddlery that stocks breeches...

I have looked online but they're just so expensive!! The Mark Todd ones caught my eye but £50+ per pair for the casual rider is a lot of money!! Especially for a questionable fit!!

...I just hate trying stuff on in-store!! LOL!!

Snap on the 36" inside leg. I only own one pair that are really long enough, and that's a pair of hac-tac denim ones. To be honest I just don't expect them to be very long! Doesn't really bother me as I wear thick socks with them, the only really annoying thing is the knee patch can be nearer your thigh

Snap again for 36" legs!!

For joddies I have found that the Tally Ho range are excellent in length - infact they are too long! For breeches I found that caldene do a 'long' range which are also long enough.

Strangely enough I find it alot easier to get long jodhs than I do 'normal' /jeans, trousers etc....but that is another story!!
