Baron's Wood Equestrian Center, which is in Mid Devon.
John Lassetter 2day dressage clinic, you don't have to take part in both days, although if you want to there's stabling at the arena!
It's £50 a session, but price obviously comes down depending on how many people take part!!
I think it's 17th/18th of Feb (give or take a day).
Anyone care to join me?

I think i'm going to take 2 naughty ponies!

Used to go to his with Boss occaisionally, he's very good but I'm not convinced he'd help me that much with Moon. Could be interesting though- how much is stabling do you know?

yes if it wouldn't be embarassing on a fat cob, then I would be on for it. If he's teach a junior then Will would too, have you any organiser/contact details......

Well i was thinking of taking Squeak, and he's the same age as Moon, and probably alot more of a retard!!
Not sure how much stables are, as wont be needing one, i'll ask tho. (i would offer you a place here, but there's no space)

M he is fab like that- I go with a group of older women who like to ignore the basics and just do fun stuff, he's quite used to teaching a sorts of riff-raff!!
I'll show you a dvd of my last lesson at some point....

This is where it is Baron's Wood

And this was a reply to the email i sent them

"Hi Claire

John is £50 per session and you can wait until mid Jan to book places if need be. If you would like to share sessions with other riders then the cost of the session is divided between the participants.

It is a two day clinic, so please let me know if you would like a space on both days and a stable overnight.

Barons Wood are really trying to get good trainers there aren't they?
CCJ's trainer has moved there recently and reports the facilities are excellent.
We are currently waiting to discover when Lucinda Green is coming there again, as last time it got cancelled due to lack of support.
C may do the Sj session in late Jan with C Sansom, but the John Lassetter course sounds interesting too. She may however have trouble getting time off now as she starts work on Tuesday, so we will wait to book anything for a while, plus finances will also come into it as she is already on a course at kingston Maurwood around then I think.
We'll let you know! ps I hear a night out may be happening soon, look out Exeter..

OMG! I'd absolutely LOVE to join you - am VERY envious - Sadly I think Devon is a little bit too far for me to travel!

Looking forward to the updates though!

When is LECs eventing weekend?

[/ QUOTE ]

Ooops, i had forgotten about that, although i had also heard that it wasn't going ahead as origanally, but that a few of you were making other plans!

Its hunt ball weekend but I would be very interested if Sat to Sunday. Anything to improve my donkey! Have they got a good water jump there as well?
As for eventing weekend have given up as despite advertising in local tack shops and on here people are far too non commital and nobody can be definate about it.

I think there's a few XC jumps there, so they might have something! Not to sure tho!!

I know what you mean about being non-commital, as i was too, but i just don't know what horses i'll have around, or even where i'll be working, so can't plan anything that far in advanced!

Nah all I need is a water jump! Will push him into a river if necessary! But depends on size of my hangover. Will have to work out costs - would it be groups? How big are groups? How long is lesson and need to work out stabling costs both for me and nag.

what are you doing at Kingston Maurward around then? is it a dressage or SJ clinic? im near there and want to get the monster to as many clinics as possible for practice!

Well you're welcome to stay here, but not room for nag i'm afraid!
Don't know how much a stable is for the night, but if you look at the website i've posted above, there might be something on there, or atleast a phone no. to call!
It's £50 per session, and that then depends on how many people join that session, ie if there's 2, it becomes £25 each!
"If you would like to share sessions with other riders then the cost of the session is divided between the participants."

If I can get there I'd be happy to share a session with one other- we arent doing anything particularly advanced but capable of shoulder-in/leg yielding etc. Both days would be good and I think we should go for a night out in between lessons

I am well up for getting pissed up. If you can get to mine J then I can probably give you a lift. My lovely OH was expecting to take me to Pontipool anyway - Then again you never know I might have done my trailer test *coughs*! Where is Barons Wood is it close to J27?

I'm sure I could get to yours- would be great if I could hitch a lift and have a pony sleepover

Does that mean we have to sample Devon nightlife......

Are you gonna come to Hunt Ball? Its on the Friday. I think H should come along as well! At least she would not have to drive as so close to her house! Maybe Moon could stay at H's then very easy for me to pick you up on the Sat.

Umm fit men well judging by yours and H standards at the moment then tonnes!

but in reality there are lots of young farmers but if in doubt you could go clubbing in Weston afterwards and I am sure you would do very well in your dresses.
Was about £35 last year I try and blag it for free by doing something like selling raffle tickets!! Which I do for 10 minutes then disappear! Last year I moaned I did not eat so only paid £20. Tis at Winter Gardens in Weston and I always take 4 litres of wine via my famous wine box is a birthday present trick which never fails to get into any social situation.
