Can anyone recommend a joint supplement for a 15year old? Just looking a touch stiff to start off with out the stable then loosens up, however he's been taken to having a hooley round the field with his friends recently and just looking a bit worn out afterwards !

I like to feed supplements in 'straights' as it is as I don't particularly like buying the boxed ones with fancy labels which are usually overpriced and full of rubbish or things he's getting in his feed already.

I have previously used MSM but ran out and been meaning to buy more. Just can't decide between MSM or something else like boswellia or Devils claw etc .

Also, very random but assuming that human pharmaceutical grade MSM would be safe to buy if done so? Just a query as can get more for less of the price than a branded equine bag. If not I'll just stick to the equine range.

Many thanks

There are so many choices! For my 17yo horse with arthritic hocks and left front coffin joint I like this one on the link above. It has Boswellia, Rosehips, MSM and glucosamine HCL in it. I also use Devil's Claw.

I'd imagine human pharmaceutical grade MSM would be fine for a horse, might be hard to judge the right dose (because I am bad at maths mainly)

I would assume you could use

Thank you for your reply! That is the website that I use, I think they're fab. I do like a lot of their mixes however I should've stated that he has been recommended not to have glucosamine because of EMS.

I wonder if it would be possible to ask them to do you a bespoke mix leaving out the glucosamine.

Thanks I look a lot more into boswellia , that might be an idea too about contacting them to see if they can cut out the glucosamine :)
