Yes they do...have seen very good results within wks with cortaflex!
Horses are like people, what works for some wont necessarily work for others

I would imagine unless you actually have a horse with a joint problem you will not see any significant improvement,it will be used as a preventative

In which case you can only hope it is doing some good

I don't know if they work or not to tell the truth.

My guy was incredibly stiff in his shoulder and trotting up short so decided to give glucosamine / condroitin supplement to him, NAF SuperFlex. He is now moving beautifully.

However, I don't know if this is due to the supplement or due to the fact that I'm bringing him back into work so may be more supple due to doing more.

Going to continue with the supplement though as will be doing him some good I think.

I hope they work, I give George NAF superflex as a preventative, he has mild windgalls in all 4 legs that were there when I bought him and the vet recommended a suplement as a preventative. Hope I'm not wasting my money!

I use Superflex with my 25yr old as the farrier said he was very slightly stiff when his leg was being held for longer periods of time - he says he notices a difference since he has been on it

They do work for some people but not others. They do not work within days most supplements take about 6 months to get into the system for things like arthritis, for which glucosomine is brilliant for me but takes time. The damp does take over occasionally so you do still get bad days.

I know vaguelly how they should work but not well enough to explain! I think some work for some and not others (as others have said). I have been using NAF Superflex on 3 of mine for a few years now as IMO its excellent. 1 horse I put on it purely for maintenence - he'd been cold backed up until I started him on this stuff and within about 6 weeks this improved to the point that he very rarely does it now! I asked the vet if the Superflex could have done this and she said maybe it made the muscles round the spine looser or something which could have done it (even though Id had his back checked and saddle etc...). I dont care, it worked! My 2 veteran ponies seem more flexible on it too.

Saying that, I tried Cortaflex ages ago on a stiff pony and it did bugger all!

Glucosamine and chondroitin are brilliant - I take them for my damaged knees and they are so much better within days of starting the course. I notice the change too if I run out.

We use Equimins for a 14.3hh 27 yr old cob ex-broodmare/driver and it does work. She's been on it for about 3 yrs now, was stiff and now moves well (at her own pace always). We have magnet boots on standby but don't need them yet. I would recommend this powder.
