Horse has been intermittantly lame since early spring. Investigated as far as an mri with no conclusive diagnosis. Although it does notexplain the lameness ,one of the mri findings was a small cartilage lesion in the fetlocck.
My vets seem to be of the opinion that different things work for different horses, it seems that there's no hard and fast guide as to what's best overall.
My boy is a 16 year old cob with high mileage but a light workload and 4 or 5 years into intermittent arthritis related lameness in both pasterns and recently also a hock. I did have good results with Newmarket Joint Supplement and then Synequin, but then it flared up again this Summer and an intra muscular injection of Adequan seems to have helped.
He's also on NoBute, flaxseed oil, D&H Mobility, magnetic boots overnight, pads in his front shoes and special shoeing....and as of last month one bute a day for life (with regular blood tests and vet monitoring) *hides*.
