Due to my horse getting over a low grade infection in both hind legs and the vet saying he looked stiff behind I'm thinking of putting him on a joint supplement as at his age it may not be a bad idea.

question is which one?? Thoughts on what everyone uses please. I'm leaning towards Newmarket joint supplement?

thanks

I spent ages recently trying to decide which one to go for. I narrowed it down to supplease gold, equimins flexi joint and nupa flex green lipped mussel. I have a really fussy mare so asked both supplease and equimins for a sample and equimins was the only one who would do this. She ate it fine so i started her on it. i actually cannot believe the change in her since shes been on it. After a week the swelling in her fetlock went right down and she was running around the field like a loon again. Out riding she has been more than willing to go and loves being out front which is what she used to be like. I only feed the recommended dose and it really works for her so will continue on using it. Im so pleased that shes back to her old self.

A lot of us feed vet vits Equi flex. Not only is it good but very good price too

You will find with supplements as with anything 'herbal' etc what works for one horse won't necessarily work for another. I can only suggest what works for mine, and that's vet vits equiflex but fed continuously at the loading dose not the maintenance dose. I believe to have any affect the level of glucosamine fed should be 10,000mg???

I am another person who uses flexijoint and can't believe the difference but I use the one with bromalin. It's turned my old boy into a bouncing youngster again.
