Hi all, I have a 10 year old ex pointer/team chaser who is lovely, generally very well behaved and kind. He obviously has wear and tear from his past activities and his joints in his legs do click when he walks! Just wondering what people would recommend as he's not old but has joint issues clearly, hes used mainly for hacking and dressage, would maybe do more but want to make sure all is well with his joints first, and also I'm not rich!! Am currently breaking the bank with my 24 year old ex flat racer keeping him in prascend!

Have been recommended the Kentucky supplement (made by the same company as Cortaflex) it appears quite a reasonable price at £20 for 2 months for general maintenance. May give it a go myself. I am currently feeding my 18-year old TB the Equimins Flexijoint which seems to work for my girl and not too pricey.
 
My boy is an ex hurdler and he has joint issues. I use Hack Up supplements on him but havent tried any others so cant really compare. They make bespoke ones especially to suit your horses particular issue and their ethos is great. They are seem pricey but one tub does lasts ages.

Ive just put my horse back on this stuff after it kept my last pony going into his late 30's.
Its currently a little pricey as he's a 16.2 ID on the loading dose! However once that's over and done it is as Megobo says really competitively priced and ingredients wise is very comparable to Cortaflex.
 
Another who uses supplease gold - started last tub on 31st march and still some left. Just ordered another (large size- cant remember the weight) but probably won't start it for another two to four weeks at a guess.
Works well and a good price too :)
 
My horse has tried them all at the moment I have great results with equmims flexi joint then swap for premier flex then suppleze gold and keep this routine. keeps him sound. I think horses get used to a joint supplement so seem to stop working hence the reason I change about a bit.
 
Aviform either their standard one or the gold, both a brilliant and make a difference.

Premier flex is good but worked out more expensive than aviform, tried equine America and it was rubbish didn't notice any difference and that was during the summer with 24/7 turnout.
 
I think PremierFlex HA from Equine Answers is working on my arthritic 10 yr old. It has high levels of all the relevant ingredients and also Hyaluronic Acid which you don't get so much in other supplements.
It is about £42 for a pot but after the loading does it last about 3 months.

ETA Just seen the post above about Aviform and had a look, it contains HA too so might well try it...
