I recently won some Superflex and that coincided with vet saying that older horse would benefit from something along those lines.

Have just about used all that and went into feed merchant's yesterday to get another supply but there are so many different ones, at varying prices, no idea as to what to get.

So does anyone know the difference between Superflex, Cortalfex Regular/Super Strength, Kentucky joint supplement or a power of gloucosomine (apologies as I know spelling is wrong) and MSM.

Help/suggestions.

I know they all have the ingredients on the containers but reading/comparing very difficult.

Thanks.

I did tonnes of research on joint supplements a little while a go and narrowed it down to equimins flexijoint just because the reviews say that its brilliant for the price, also supplease gold was another and then there was on eother that I cant rememeber. I thought Id try flexijoint first as it was the best value and then work my way up. It did work and I was impressed as I did notice an improvement. My mare damaged her fetlock in the field last winter and whilst shes sound, it swells a bit and I wanted something to support it. She was also stiff all over and when she was little a wall fell in on her hind so her hip has been rebuilt. She 19 now. Anyway Like I say I did notice improvement but then I started looking into the benefits of turmeric and decided it was dead cheap so it was worth a try if my mare would eat it. The change in her has been absolutely amazing! Shes full of it and her fetlock no longer swells at all. Shes recently started being stabled over night so I thought shed probably stiffen up but nope. She comes out each morning with a spring in her step and no swelling. Also within three weeks of being on it her sarcoid has completely disappeared and shes got a redder chestnut. Shes never looked or felt better. If you are on facebook then join turmeric users group. Its important to feed it with either oilive, linseed or coconut oil and some freshly ground pepper so the body can absorb it. Start off with a teaspoonful and up it until you see a change. My mare is the fussiest ever so I had to start with just a pinch and up from there. Shes on about two to three teaspoonfuls now.

All the scientific research on human and equine joint supplements points towards using glucosamine sulphate. Some of the branded supplements contain other forms of glucosamine. For example Equine America Joint Supplement or Equimins Flexijoint contains Glucosamine Hydrochloride. However, virtually all the scientific research has been done with Glucosamine Sulphate so you would be advised to choose Glucosamine Sulphate.

Requisite (Robinsons) sells a very good value Glucosamine Sulphate joint supplement.

i have my tbx on Equine America glucosamine which has worked wonders on him, he's 18 in a couple of months and has a bit of arhthritis last winter he was stiff and puffy but hes been on this since the summer when we were out having fun and so far he's been great, so stiffness or puffiness except on the very odd occasion. :)

I would not buy anything else but Flexi Joint.
