A singe jointed has a nutcracker action which some horses don't like. A mullen mouth is not as strong, but not good if your horse leans

My old pony hated a mullen mouth but was fine in a jointed it depends on the horse . The joy of the bit bank lol
My current horse is in a jointed loose ring snaffle at home and a mullen mouth gag for hunting (Happy mouth)
