Josh has had an exploratomy arthrotomy today to see if we could get to the bottom of his intermittant lameness. The verdict was a partially torn cruciate ligament and a bu**ered miniscus (to use the specialist's exact words!). So he has had surgery to remove the meniscus and stabilise the stifle joint and is now feeling totally sorry for himself. He is currently lying wimpering on the sofa with a huge plaster on his knee. Daisy can't understand quite why he doesn't want to play with her. The 6-8weeks of rest are going to be interesting (not!) but at least he is hopefully now on the mend.

Thanks guys.

He's feeling very sorry for himself but also milking it a bit - he couldn't possibly hobble to the kitchen for anything to eat but wolfed down some fresh chicken when brought to the edge of the sofa for him to eat. I hope he doesn't think this will be a regular thing from now on.

Thanks. Apparently all the nurses loved him because he was so soppy with them and wanted to be cuddled when he had his catheter put in, bless him. I've had a horrible night with him - v restless and crying but he seems loads bettter this morning - its just me feeling rough now.
