JRN's and ballotting?

Does anyone know the rule?

You can't use a ballot sticker as the JRN sticker goes in that space.

I'm guessing that those in the correct area get priority. I know the secretaries often close the JRN entry on the ballot date.

However, it's closer for us to go to JRN's out of area as only one is nearby in our area. The other 2 are 2.5 hour drive away.

I guess just need to enter early and keep fingers crossed.
 
Yeh you're correct. Priority goes to those in the event's area. You make it sound as though you are on the edge between two areas; were you not allowed to choose which area you went into and which events were closest?

Have you got permission from your co-ordinator to compete in other areas?
 
Can't really help but realistically, I expect that prority would be given to 'in area' competitors in the event of a ballot being necessary. I guess you'll need to do as you said and get your entries in early. Fingers crossed for you

Just far enough into Eastern region to have to go there, 2 out of our 3 (only have 3!) are right on the East Coast in norfolk.

She has permission to compete out of Area and makes sure she emails those Area coords early and enters early.

She will do Gt Witch on Good Friday and Downham in May/June for our Areas and also SOE (in there) Hambleden and Nurstead if she gets in. Possibly Aston as well.

Trouble is we live in Herts and there are no BE events in the county at all, every event is over an hour away (only 3 1 hour, rest are 2+)

When my sister was doing JRNs the closest one was 3 1/2 hours away. The other 4 and the other 6! Then the year after she was too old they decided to have one at Burgie. 5 minutes away!

Thinking of the positive; Central are so competitive that getting on the team would be near impossible. Is there not a better chance with Eastern?
 
Rosie's doing Gt Witch I think although it's a long way from them too - it's a long way from everywhere

Friend near us got in think Midlands team on only one JRN (3rd place) and 1 ON (10th Place) only 2 runs all year... horse went lame just before the finals but she was on the team to the point where she WD...... So how hot is it in some area's?

Eastern is VERY competitive, lots of money over here. We also have the Paynes (Fergus, out of JRN now as he has represented GB, Hector, Caspar and Lockie (little one))

They have serious money a huge pop out Whittaker box, and own half (Judy Skinner is Sophie Paynes mother) of WFP's horses, including Ballincoola!

Not forgetting the Lamberts, almost as much money!, Rosie Chineryand Mary Edmunson, who are both somewhat talented with a good support network. Hopefully they will all get on well in Juniors and leave space in the JRN's!

. Rosie is doing JRN on Lottie and Bertie at GW but as far as Bertie's concerned I think it's a matter of getting the qualification as a partnership to do Intermediate - they're not doing JRN at S of E.
