Not both at the same time however!!!

My pup is 10 weeks old this week and I have been trying to get her to walk on the lead. She is used to her collar now and it ok on the lead so log as we are going in a direction that she wants to go in, then what she does is lean back against the lead and scuff backwards pulling. I try not to pull so I encourage her with little bits of cheese which works ok, except I think she is now doing it to get a piece of cheese, if you see what I mean. Any tips for lead training her very appreciated.

secondly she gets the hiccups an awful lot, everyday and not always after eating. They are quite 'hard' ones, just wondered if this is normal. The hiccups dont last very long by the way. Going for final jabs on friday but you lot are a lot more helpful tbh!!!!

Finn my RR used to get hiccups at least 3 times a day - was sssssooo cute!! There was no rhyme or reason - hed eat he'd get hiccups, he'd play he'd get hiccups... he even got hiccups in his sleep!!

He seems to have grown out of it now - at 29weeks!! LOL!!

All the pups we have had seem to go through a hiccuping phase. They just grow out of it.

It is quite amusing to watch them....

My Pup did hiccup for first few weeks i had him... He's now 6 months and no hiccups!...

As for lead walk sorry i can't help but i started walking my pup in harness rather than collar. he always walks in front of me going out but coming home he doesn't want to come home!! lol!!! He loves his walks!... Good luck...

Oh by the way mine;s a JRT too...

She is probably used to the collar because she has it on in the house so she is used to it now......try connecting the lead to her collar for short periods whilst she is in the house and let it trail behind her....supervise her whilst doing this.........get hold of the lead and give it a slight tug in your direction just as u would if u wanted her to come to u and use her name at the same time and offer her little treats to take her mind of the act of holding and pulling the lead..............She sees this as a foreign object and isnt used to being lead at this early stage in life.......just gradually introduce it at times when she is more realaxed i.e in the house and use plenty of praise and treats.

Hiccups are very normal for a pup as the tube has not fully developed. Ours did the same and grew out of it. We found that walking our dog on a harness improved things. Pups are often unsure about their territory when young but patience and consistency and also you being very confident will help in time. Do not force the issue and encorage but remember this is all pretty new and there is lots to take in for your pup. Best of luck.

At present, it seems like you are reinforcing the wrong behaviour. Rather than giving treats to encourage her to go forward, ignore her completely until she moves forwards again (not pulling on the lead, just holding it still and letting her pull against it until she gives in). Then reward once she has moved forward on her own. Also reward at other times during the trip when she is good, not always after she has done something "naughty."
Depending on the size of pup's head, a harness might be a good idea as if she is pulling against the lead, you dont want to end up holding a collar with no puppy attached.
Also, if possible, clicker training could help your situation quite a bit. Whilst they understand a click means "good," it is unlikely she will act out in order to obtain a click as a reward. That means that you can click and treat when she does something good you have requested, and just click when she stops misbehaving so she understands that the new action is the one you want her to take.
