Hi,

Will the judge ride your pony in the 14.2hh and under classes at County Level, if so what is expected of the pony & rider?

Cheers

You haven't said what class you are entering and it will tell you on the shedule if they plan to ride them.....they will name confirmation judge and then rider.

Hi,

Newark & Notts on Sunday - CHAPS Traditional Pony - 14.2hh & under. Conformation Judge: Mr J Cookson; Ride Judge: Mr A French.

As they've stated a ride judge, then I would imagine tha answer is yes! Presume it's a petite person ;)

Ok thank you, it is only the 2nd County show I will be attempting - what will be expected? I shall do a ridden show piece and then the judge will get on him? He is only 14.00hh... I am nervous now :(

Ride Judge would suggest he'll ride.

I'mm sure your pony will be fine they will just get on for two minutes walk trot and canter on both reins after you have shown him off.

Because of the class i'd expect him to be a small ish rider.

Good Luck and let us know how you get on.

Thank you everyone.. I will let you know how we do, and try and post a photo.

Main thing is to go out and enjoy the day & exprience, you have got to start somewhere to gain the exprience! :)

I might be wrong (not up on CHAPS rule book) but I don't think the judge will ride in the pony classes, they will be refered to as the ride judge as they will mark your show and the "ride" your pony gives you.

Agree - the 'ride' judge in a pony class will judge you doing your show - they'll only ride the horses.

The ride judge judges the ride for the ponies (i.e. under 14.2 or under 15hh for BSPA classes) from the ground and you do an individual show.

THe only time I can remember judges riding ponies is sometimes in the Cherif (part bred arab) classes, at some M&M breed shows.
