Im wanting to take my Welsh D out showing (in hand & workers) on sunday but ....... i clipped him, hes a baby and was sweating way too much so it had to be done, its a chaser clip (high neck & belly - half face)

he still has full mane and tail/legs on etc

I jusge and know that i wouldnt mark down personally as if teh horse is a "working hunter" then it proves hes been in work!

but .......
what do you think! I dont want to waste my time.

I'm no judge, but at this time of year there's still quite a few different types about on the showing circuit who are still to grow in clips. Our fell looks like she was done yesterday when she was done in November.

As long as you haven't touched his feathers/native features it should be fine at this time of year. Judges will appreciate its for his winter comfort. We've never been scolded for presenting our fell in a hunter clip (we don't clip her head in order to protect her beard).

Personally though, I'd be doing everything I can to get him to grow the clip back in if you're really planning on showing him heavily.
