I am soooooo angry its unbelievable! We have just bought nearly 3k worth or jumps from jump 4 joy and have been treated like total shite by the company. They have just about managed to deliver our fences on time but have managed to not include part of the order, they left out some poles and when I rang them they said as we had signed fo the jumps they had no responsibility to finding the missing poles. Even though there was NOTHING else on the lorry when they came and we rang them straight away after delivery. They have made NO effort of finding them and everytime we ring they are terrible on the phone and don't even offer to send some more, even though we had a second delivery of yet more jumps today. They also didn't send the feet for the fillers and now say they won't be with us till the end of next week (we have a show on monday and they have known this for weeks). This is honestly the worst run equestrian company I have ever come accross and when your spending that sort of money you don't expect to be treated like dirt.
Rant over. I'm fuming and had to let this out!

Did you sign for a certain number of 'parcels'? Do they have any proof how many parcels they sent? Have you checked with the carrier if they have any as showing 'held in depot'? What a pain- we always have to take the customers word if they say there is stuff missing... But if they are being difficult, not sure what you can do apart from demand to speak to a manager... Good luck!

We have been through all this with them, but they just won't help us! We have had 3 orders through from them so far and not a single one has been correct! Its just maddening, I have tried to get bits and pieces from the closet stockist and they also say the company are a nightmare and don't have the stock themselves! ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

The fact you have signed for the parcels does not mean that you have checked the contents. They have failed to supply what you have ordered and are therefore in breach of contract. If they knew you needed them for a specific date then they have failed to comply with the contract. I would write a very strongly worded letter to then asking for the missing components to be sent to you by next day delivery or you will be making a claim for the goods they did not supply and any inconvenience caused.

Oh dear - I have only very, very positive things to say about them

I agree with Peter. I work for a large computer company and when we have a customer who claims that something has not been delivered or delivered incorrectly, the fact that they have signed for the goods mean nothing.

We have something called a DAN (Delivery Advice Notice) that lists everything that should be on the order. If the client has discovered that this does not match to what they actually have, we then organise for the missing parts to be sent out.

I would echo sending a strongly worded letter - sent by recorded delivery - saying that you expect the goods to be there by a certain date or things will be taken further.

What appalling customer service! Good luck.

They seemed a little hmmm uninterested when my mum spoke with them at Your Horse Live. Seemed more interested in the interest they were getting from a rider. In the end we lost interest and walked away. Not saying we were ignored but we just didn't seem important to them. Love the jumps though which is a shame as mum wasn't impressed enough to order with them.

I bought some wings and poles from them a few years ago and wanted to buy a new cup as I had lost one. I saw them at a tradestand and the man was very rude and totally uninterested. He said that the cup design had changed and that I would have to buy a new set of wings as he didn't supply cups to fit my exisiting wings anymore!!!??? He said these things happen and I should 'deal with it'....
I got a local metal worker to make me a cup and won't buy from JFJ in future.....
Good luck, I would seek some legal advise on getting money/goods back!!

We ordered some jumps off them at Badminton and they were going to phone us back in a few days to confirm delivery dates etc. Never heard back from them and that was about 3 weeks ago.

In the past they have always been good, maybe it is new people involved now.

Oh dear - it's "nice" to hear all this though as my friend was going to buy a load of jumps from them for her new arena. Does anyone have any recommendations for alternative jumps companies?

Have used Thanet in the dark and distant past, and jumps were good, everything as it should be.

that's really good to know they seem so nice and helpful and the jumps look good. Thanks!
