Anybody do it? What's it like?

Ive had a look at the site, so I understand if Im not a member then I have to get like a day ticket? Does the horse need one too? And is it restricted, ie. cant do over a certain level without becoming an actual member? Also what levels are there? Am I right in thinking Level 1 is the smallest, Level 3 the highest? and can do it in pairs or individually? The aim is that you get the quickest time (or is their an optimum like XC) with least amount of poles down/refusals?

Sorry for all the questions, always wanted to try it so will do this year if I can work out all the info behind it!

I'm probably not the best person to advise you but I seem to be the only one so far. I've taken part in 3 jumpcross training sessions, but my horse has managed to injure himself before the big day each time. The training sessions have been great fun, 2+ hours going round the course, and doing the whole thing at the end, so I would say def. give it a go. The website is www.jumpcross.com and all the info should be there.

I did a training session at Plumpton College a good few years ago. They were supposed to be running a competition last year but I don't know whether it ever took place.

It doesn't seem to have taken off around here, Grange Farm in Wittering seeming to be the nearest place that actually holds competitions. I have to say the requirement to become a member and seeming to have to pay a fair bit in Registration fees put me off, along with the fact that you're supposed to compete in pairs and it's not always possible to find one....and of course no competitions down here is the reason I haven't competed!!
