We have a 20x40 arena, and unfortunately a set of plastic (yuk) sjs with these really stupid massive plastic molded wings that look like darleks!!!!

The take up loads of room in the arena and you can't really put more than 2 fences across because the stands fill up the space so much......so I had a bright idea what if you could use a jump cup thingy that hangs off the fence line?...

I have seen barrel cups, so was wondering if a similar thing for fences lines existed?....Have you seen it?.....

One side of the arena is a wall with wooden paneling on it so would be good to be able to hang one off their too.

I know these exist because I'm pretty sure they use them as well as 10ft poles at Sparsholt to maximise space in the indoor arena

Sorry for essay!!!

Thanks :)

Yep you get a bit of wood and nail a key hole track to it and slot it on arena sides

Downside is that key hole cups are expensive (safety ones were £16 each)

yes, i've seen them where the wooden upright of the arena fence had the right diameter holes drilled into it at regular intervals, and you could then fit a standard BSJA jump cup into the holes. easypeasy and not expensive. saved loads of room too. only works if rails are on the outside though... which they rarely are.
obv remove all cups as soon as poles are removed otherwise nasty knee/leg injuries might ensue...

I just use the barrel converters and hook them on the rails.

Yeah I saw those but the down side was they only have 3 fixed positions (fed up of stupid fixed plastic wing we currently have!) and also don't they need a bracket?....which I would have to fix to the fence/wall and chances are a livery would slice their leg off on it!!!! :)

Isn't it dangerous to have a 'wing' that won't knock down??

I would always use a safety cup if possible as it won't move like a normal wing i.e. if horse gets it wrong and lands on the fence.

However you are unlikely to run into it as would mean colliding with the arena side, which presents a bigger problem!

Also picture from Alvescot stud on how they do it:
