Hey!
looking to get a new jump or event saddle, wondered if any of you know of any good ones i might look into? liked the look of the harry dabbs but rode in a few and find them really uncomfortable. Any ideas?
Thanks :)

Do you have a good fitter you can work with? You'll need to find saddles that work for your horse first, though of course you can tell a fitter what you prefer in a saddle so they can bring types that suit you. Most recommendations other psople can make are unlikely overall to be suitable for your horse.

It IS useful to work out, if a jump saddle is new to you, what sort of saddle you like. I know when I first got one (dressage rider!) I was sold an Albion K2 which in the end I decided I hated, but I had no idea what I liked in a jump saddle. I ended up with a Prestige Paris D which was a much softer, more close contact and less "blocky" saddle. Perhaps you could ride in some friends' saddles? I know I lost a fair amount of money because of my inexperience!

Thanks, i had a dressage saddle made to fit me and my horse last year but it was very expensive although worth every penny. She is currently in a wintec GP for jumping but it is a horrible fit and really hard to ride in. I'm looking at saddles and then if i can find one at the right price going to have my saddler change it to fit her. If all else fails i will probs have another made by him but want to see what else is out there before i go ahead and buy :)

The above is good advice, try as many as you can until you find what suits you and your horse. We are currently trying to find a new jump saddle but suiting horse and rider is very tricky, have tried several Albions but the horse does not like them, now trying a Style close contact that suits well and probably getting one.
Ideal saddles are usually fairly uncomplicated and a good make to try but we have had problems getting anyone to bring out any to try so giving up.

I have an Albion K2 jump which fits me and horse (kwpn) Very well!! I LOVE it!!! Also have an ideal impala for the ISH which I dont like as much but my mum prefers this, i think you need to get a saddle fitter out to fit horse and you.
