I'm looking for a jump instructor to work with me from cross poles upwards (incl. XC schooling) with the aim of securing enough points to qualify for BE Novice in the next 18 months. A conservative goal for some perhaps, but it would do us nicely!

Any recommendations?

Horse can jump and rider can jump, but we are an inexperienced pair together and I'd like some help to get it right as he can get very excited around fences!

Willing to travel, preferably an hour or so from Tamworth (see map attachment) but would consider further afield if residential training is possible over two days/month so that we aren't spending more time in the box than training.

You don't need points to qualify for Novice you need qualifying results.

If you have never evented this is starting at 90cm and then getting them at 100.
Are you quite young or an adult over 21? The reason I ask is the target sounds like a young persons one. Its also a crazy one to write down and have in your mind because you could have the BEST season eventing ever and yet not make it to Novice and you will feel disappointed by the outcome. You are much better off setting process goals than yardstick goals.

That’s quite a hefty goal if you are starting from x poles however it’s hard to tell your or your horses experience from the post here.
Highly recommend Sian Phipps, Equestrian Confidence Coach she covers this area I believe and competes BE.
