Just a query, i have noticed in the sj yesterday that when Digby lands his front feet do not "land" together one is in frot of the other quite often which is not something i have noticed before. Obviously means he is coming down quite steeply . Is this just a youngster thing or because the fences are relativly small/ inexperiebnce and what can you do to improve the landings?

ANy info appreciated.
By they way his back etc were all checked less than 2 weeks ago.

Not quite sure what you mean. You wouldn't expect them top land with both feet together one foot would land as the other is going forward.

i didnt expect them to be completely together but he just looks like he dies on landing and wondered if it was just due to him having them too far apart...actually now thinking about it i suppose they do... ignore me - its been a long day!! I expect it is because he loses a bit impulsion on landing and needs to go away from the fence better which makes his landing look a bit awkward!

Its a babay unbalanced thing. Our Sjing problems stem from G diving onto his shoulders and taking a few strides to lift again, so is something we have been working on

Steep landings are generally associated with confirdence and the only way to improve is just to keep jumpin- grids are fantastic. Be really careful about being totally free with the hand through all phases of the jump as sometimes a horse will draw back in the last phase if the rider takes back the hand too quick

Thanks Boss...he is doing gridwork and is doing quite well...i think with time and experience he will travle through the air more rather than landing as steep.
