Im going to make a few jump wings this year ready for Spring.
pretty sure the wings will be straight forward enough to make.
Just thinking about Jump poles, If I go to B&Q for the wood, Can I buy something in there for poles? Fence pole type things? What size do I need to look for ? Guessing 12 foot long but how wide?

Poles we have are around 3.5 inch diameter. 10-12ft long is ideal, you can always cut a few down if you want to make skinny fences too.

Local farmers merchants or timber merchants do round poles in different lengths - they're much cheaper than B&Q too!

B&Q is not the best place to buy wood to make your wings, they are very expensive compared to a wood yard. In addition you won't find anything suitable for poles there either.

Take a look on the internet in your area & you'll probably find somewhere that sells the poles you want & at the right price, there may be a local supplier advertising on ebay also.

Our local agricultural merchant , which is also a wood yard, make gates, fencing etc) sells tanalised 10 & 12 ft jump poles and god, they're solid! Heavy but robust;D Much better & cheaper than b&q.
