Hi

As the title says really -any suggestions on jump saddle for great big WB with large jump! Just about to buy a new one and figured if there was any suggestions on any that helped, even if its only a bit! I was going to go for Albion but a few people have said not great for lower leg ( shooting forward & not particularly secure.)

Thank you :-)

Mine is fantastic get good comments about my lower leg, huge knee rolls and thigh blocks (shame it can't sort rest of my riding out haha) i bought it from native pony saddle company b4 they split, it was their 4* jump saddle, effectively a jump version of the native pony saddle. Not sure if they still do them, was bought for last horse and luckily with reflock fits current horse, never moves, very comfy.

I too have a Fairfax for my 16.3 WB. I prefer the Albion K2 which my TB has. I tried an Albion on my WB but unfortunately it doesn't fit him as well as the Fairfax

My "horse" is only a 14.2 :o but jumps huge, and I don't have much horse to hold on to when he has lift off! I also find a lot of saddles completely restrict his shoulder or get pushed back too far by his shoulders. I'm having one custom made by heritage saddlery, they have a design for large shoulders that has a cut away panel underneath, and a flap "floating" on top. I'm having huge blocks put on to stick me in! not to pricey either, work a look anyway.

Generally the right tree and fitting combo keep the saddle back off the shoulder and the flap cut affects them less. I think it might help to focus on a good fitter and see what they recommend as it's so individual for both horse and rider, and the combo (eg you might find a saddle comfy, and a version of it might fit the horse, but perhaps in a smaller seat size).
