I have a GFS Pro Event at the moment which I do love but I am feeling like I could really do with a jumping saddle instead as it's my thing. In general I hear a lot of people say that as soon as you get over a metre you could do with one, is this about right?
I would like one that I could also school easily in and maybe do a bit of dressage in(only unaff prelim) Is this realistic or would I really need to keep my GP?
I find myself drooling over the Pessoa Amo and the Legacy at the moment, anyone got one? Apparently the new ones aren't good quality? My thinking was that it is also made by the same company as GFS so would be the same sort of fit, not sure if this is the case though...
I also really like the Prestige saddles but how much do these cost in general? I think they would be way out of my price range to be honest!
Have also heard good things about the Ideal Impala, what are peoples thoughts on these?
Phew! Sorry about all the questions but I can't help it! I know the saddle needs to fit Red and me but am just getting an idea of which saddles to avoid and the best ones out there.
Any other recommendations?
Sorry for the essay, milk and cookies for all who got this far! :D

I nearly bought a Prestige Arrezzo (?) and it was £1650  But it rubbed his hair up behind the shoulder. I was offered to have it altered for free but I decided I wasn't paying that much for something that didn't fit when it was brand new.

For me, the Stubben Siegfreid (again - sp - ?) (£850 but 7 years ago) was the absolute business for jumping in. As soon as I sat in it (in it, not on it) I said, Yes, this is the one for me. But it depends what you like. The Stubben has a deep seat and massive knee and thigh blocks. I felt so safe in it and it kept my legs where they should be. But, sadly, it didn't fit Tee, as it was too narrow (many rows with saddler, muscle wastage on Tee - don't go there!!)

I now have a Barnsby VSS 7 Series GP/Jump. It's not really a GP as it is forward cut and has nice big blocks but I love it and it is nearly as nice as the Stubben. And they make it to a template to fit the horse and it has an adjustable tree. It was £980 plus £60 fitting. They've been really, really helpful and have adjusted it twice without fee. I can't praise them enough.

If I had the money I'd get a Jaguar :D With the panels replaced with flair for better distributation of pressure.

But seeing as I'm broke we got the throwgood synthetic jump and I must admit its actually quite good :) Very comfy fits well and is adjustable and easy to clean!

By the way I love your horse he is stunning!!

I used to ride in a Stubben Seigfreid CS and really liked it, but found the seat a bit hard if I remember rightly, maybe the newer ones are better as it was a few years old. I think I would like something to 'hold' me but with a bit of movement as Red is a bit erratic at times :p The Barnsby does look quite forward cut, the Milton Pro Seat looks quite nice too! They sound very professional! :)
I used to ride in a Jaguar Dressage saddle too Kokopelli, fab saddle! Would buy one of those too if I had the cash :D I'm not sure about synthetics, I went to R&R the other day and they had the new Tekna saddles on display which looked very smart and good for the purse but nothing beats a leather one for me :) Glad you like him :D He's my baby :)
Thanks for your thoughts guys ;)

love the gingers albion k2 very comfy to ride in for everything. i think you should get one so we can have matching saddles to go with the matching jumping boots on the ginger horses lol :D

Haha! You can't beat red on a chestnut :p He wears his tendon boots for everyday use now and has the Tekna ones for shows now :( We still match though although on your pics yours still look brand new, lets just say I can't say the same for mine :p
