As title looking for a good jump trainer for an intermediate eventer. names i have been given so far are Roland Ferneyhough, Joe Macdonald and eventer Wayne Garrick but i havent really got any feedback on how these people are as trainers so would love to hear any or further suggestions, thanks

No experience myself, but I know Ali27 went to Paul Tapners recently for a lesson and was very impressed, if you search up her recent posts you will find the report.

Bill is v good, and is trained by Roland Fernyhough. Roland is also very good and I enjoyed my lessons with him, but he would not be to everyone's tastes!

Simon Jobbins is briliant, really helped me and my horse! He trains to the level of horse and rider ( ive found some trainers dont push enough and some too much ). I couldnt recomend him enough. He teaches a lot at leyland court which might be too far for you ? He does travel though !

Thanks for all the suggestions. Most are atleast an hour from me ideally looking for someone more North of gloucester/herford/Worcestershire border but would travel for the right person. Does anyone have contact details for Angie Thompson?

Will PM you her number, but you can find her on FB...Bill Levett is about 2 miles past her. Where are you based? We are near Tewkesbury and it takes about 25 mins to get there :)

hi you could give william blane in hereford at pax equestrian a ring he taught lots of top eventers and is very nice:)

I bought my lovely youngster from Wayne Garrick and whilst waiting for the vetting went up several times for lessons - one jump and two flat. I was very impressed by his teaching and learnt a couple of tips which have helped my jumping no end. I would highly recommend him as a trainer and indeed am considering if I can justify the travel cost to go to him for lessons in the future.

ETA Wayne is both highly entertaining and informative and I enjoyed my lessons hugely whilst also learning a lot. He has recently started his own website up and I think his results on a large number of horses speak for themself.

I've seen Wayne Garrick teach flat and jumping - one was a green youngster and another more established - and I was very impressed, he also seems a very likeable person. I would have gone to him too but he's just too far from me. Good luck :)

Thanks for all the help. I have just moved to near Newent. Am going to give Wayne a try first from your positive feedback as he is nice and local, but might also try some of the other recomendations.
