Thanks to my lovely OH paying for me i did jumpcross yesterday
grin.gif

It was a a local venue and the first one they had held and there was a few teething problem to say the least so i had to wait aaaggggeeesssss for our class.

Me & Senza had a really good time though and she didn't put a foot wrong and jumped everything. I felt her look at 2 off the jumps but as soon as i squeezed her she was like 'oh ok then if you say its not scary then it must be ok'.

We had one jump down in the whole course and it was the second part of a double. It was set out for pony strides and her daddy long legs couldn't shorten up in time and despite really trying to get herself out of trouble we just rolled it. She jumped everything else like a superstar though and we had no bucking bronco's either.

I am so so pleased with her and we have decided to look into going XC now as well.

Hope everyone else had a good weekend

It was at Bow Arrow Riding Centre, it wasn't as good as the real jump cross as it was just some show jumps over 3 fields and no water jumps or anything but it was still really good fun and a good one for our first time.

She has never been to anything like that before so wasn't sure how she would react but she was a little star.

I did the Jumpcross yesterday too, was good fun but the hanging around was horrendous.

I agree with you about the double my horse treated as a bounce jump!

Oh wow someone close to me
grin.gif

Yeah the waiting around was really bad, we got there at 10am and i didn't jump until 4.30pm
shocked.gif

They only had mobile phones to communicate on and the lady doing the board kept walking off and not crossing peoples names off ect so people were just going down when they felt like it and pushing in. It was a complete nightmare but once i actually got to ride i had a really good time
smile.gif

How did you get on??

Yes I'm another local bod
laugh.gif

We got there for 10am too did the first two classes and got back to the yard at 5.30pm, we are only 15 mins away
shocked.gif

My god that lady doing the board was a nightmare, she told me there was only one in front of me so sent me down to the start where I found there were 6 people still waiting
mad.gif

I got a 6th in the first class and 4 faults in the second. My horse was a total nightmare, she doesn't do hanging around and completely lost the plot. You may even remember her unfortunately as she was getting on everyones nerves I think

.

What is your horse like, see if I can place you as I did seem to spend an awfull lot of time sitting around!!!

well done guys!!
laugh.gif

2 girls from our yard went one on a palomino cobby type and another on a chesntut TB type - did the 2 bigger classes and got placed (the palomino won one of the classes not sure which and got 5th in the other)

and my old loan kate (chestnut arab you may know her from pics on horseforums) went with her new owner stacey (happyhacker) and went clear

btw kelly horseforums has been closed we are over at www.tackroomfrolics.co.uk now

xx

Yeah we are only 15mins away and got back to the yard roughly the same time as you did. I jumped and didn't even bother waiting around for the results so god knows if i got placed or not but i doubt it as i had one fence down.

Well done for getting 6th
smile.gif
What does your horse look like then??

I was on the big 17hh chestnut with no white markings, dont know if you will remember us as i jumped the last class, i literally warmed up for 20mins, did the round and went.

The organisation of it all has definatly put me off going there again though. You expect to wait around at shows but nothing like that!!

Hi Vicki

I think i remember the big palamino (as i think she was not impressed that someone rubbed her number off the board so she ended up going last) but i cant remember the chestnut's.

It was good fun (apart from the waiting) so shame you couldn't make it.

I saw the horseforums was closed this morning

Will register with tackroomfrolics then

thanks

Vicki - Jacko was 5th in the second class, I know her mum, she used to be at my yard years ago when Stacey was very small! Her poor mum was being hassled by the "locals" they were after her dog, charming! Saw Kate too, she was in the same lorry as Woody.

Kelly - Did you have a purple top on? You were lucky I warmed up and then had to wait 2 hours to jump in the first class!

I was on a very sweaty bay with a blaze that was reversing into everything and generally being pain in the backside.

No i had a navy blue JW jacket on and white jods. I was jumping the 3rd class and there weren't many people left by then so you may not of seen us.

I remember one bay horse with a blaze, the lady riding had a red & black top on if i remember rightly, was that you??

That is really bad you waited 2 hours!! I refused to get on my horse til there was only 2 left in the class before. I already put my numbers down so i was 3rd in so luckily by the time i had warmed up i could go down.

Had to get her out and walk her around a few times though coz she was in the box for ages bless her.

Hello ladies. Woody was a gem and even tho he jumped 1/2 foot higher than needed and took off 1/2 a stride too far we managed to get round in one piece, altho i think i left my lungs somewhere inbetween the double!

Im now trying to figure out who you all are!

oooh bummer i shouldve got a good alias!
a select few of us are over at tackroomfrolics now! you were added on the missing list but your hiding here i see!

well done on jumpcross! wouldve loved to have gone sounds fun apart from the dismal organisation xx

Kelly - Yep that was us - oh the shame.

Think I must have missed you.

I put my number down for the second class and was 19th in, kept going back to check where they had got up to only to find that the lady hadn't been marking them off! OH went back about an hour later when she said oh there is only one in front of you now I have just sent her down, so I took mine down to find there were 5 still wating to jump arrrgggghh!.

Vicki - how cute is that dog, I was quite prepared to mug her and to take for him myself!

CJ1 - you did so well with Woody especially considering you hadn't jumped him before! Think you are going to do very well with him in the future.

Yes i do remember seeing you, i kept thinking that your horse looked a bit like JoElls's Otto.

Your horse looked on best behavour as i walked past but you was quite far away from the warm up at that point so thats probbly why LOL

Think you had gone by the time i tacked up as i dont remember seeing you after that.

Kelly was you on a really light/clipped chestnut with ear mufflers on it? and probably went after my friend on a little Haflinger quite late towards the end of class 2?

Nutty - thats great for 6th in the first class. How did H and Bertie do? Me and Woody are going to practice a bit for the indoor jumping, i think i need a little bit more control
smile.gif

oh boo! i think i will be here most of the time anyhow - as it will only be a matter of time before the same inbreds will make their way over there! after getting fp AND hf shut they are on a roll so may try 3rd time lucky!

sorry kelly hijacking thats enough mindless chatter now!
smile.gif

Kelly - she was probably completely worn out by the time you saw her! I spent most of the day apologising to people as we reveresd into them
blush.gif
blush.gif

CJ - it's a miracle in the first class I think, considering I had to bring her back to walk several times - stoopid mare. Bert got two clears but just wasn't fast enough, think he needs to shed some pounds off that big butt of his!!

CJ - no that wasn't me, my horse wouldn't let me anywhere near her with ear mufflers LOL she also still has her summer coat so not clipped yet, this is her (waving hello to the camera man LOL):

Picture023.jpg

Nutty - I did keep seeing you and you was waiting ages so your poor horse probably did wear herself out bless her.

Vicki - not a problem hijacking my post, i have done it many a times myself LOL
grin.gif

oooh what a sweetie, not a single white marking, how very nice.
Was you boxed on the left? I think i saw her being grazed. i had the ginger roan on the big silver box in the middle.

Ha ha i like the pic too as i think it shows her personality off as well.

She was actually getting p*ssed off waiting and was scraping but i like to say she was waving LOL

Yes i think i remember you now, our horses kept eyeing each other up and Senza was fluttering her eyelashes at him LOL

You was in Carly Purves box wasn't you??
