Jumped his first straight!!!

Had a brilliant evening today.

Chico has only done a tiny bit of jumping and only very small cross poles. However tonight i jumped with another girl on the yard and her mum put up a largish cross pole. Chico went over happily, was great. Then the mum changed it to a straight - argh!

Chicos never jumped a straight before, he has refused even small ones in the past - so i lined him up, let him go and this happened....

and we did it 5 times!!! No idea what height it was though, lol.

I was so proud of my boy - and i had the most fun i've had in ages.

well done, I was just about to post where the piccie!!

just to add sometimes horses do stop at the little ones as they think what the point....maybe you need to keep working on a height that 'he' feesl worth making the effort.

Our youngster destroys small jumps or messes around, put some something decent and he jumps lovely xx

it has really given me a confidence boost and i will definately be doing more jumping.

Meandtheboys - a spread eh? That is my new target now

We are moving all the jumps from the school to one of the empty fields so they can be set up permanently over the summer. This will mean i can do far more jumping and hopefully Chico will come on in leaps and bounds!
