LOL - just schooled my mare - she is very green - only broken summer 09 and mainly hacked out but turned away from March 10 to be a mummy. I weaned the foal at the end of October and have been slowing bringing her on since. She is 9 and has had 4 babies.
Put out some trotting poles and all went well .... so I put up a small upright (about 1 ft) - she came down to it in trot, stopped, I kicked and she walked over it. Oh well I thought, she's gone over it so this time more positive and she will pop - well, could I get her to pop, no way, trot, trot, trot TROT trot trot - no jump - think I might need to put up a bigger fence but did it on both reins and called it a day as she was going over it well, calm and keen - but NO JUMP!!!
Do you think loose jumping might encourage her to JUMP.....?
