Hello
Has any of you had or know of a horse with problems with the sacroiliac (i think its called jumpers bump unsure tho). I would like to know what the treatment is and do they ever become sound?

My old horse had a sacroilliac joint injury. In her case she has not been able to jump as long as I have known her.Her new owners keep her on the same yard as me and she has now been diagnosed with a problem in her pedal bone which is thought to be connected to the original injury in respect of her compensating for the pain in her back end by using her front end more. The jumpers bump is a term I think is used for a horse which has a round rump in the traditional shape of a showjumper whereas the hunters bump is another term for an injury in the sacroiliac region.
