I woke up this morning to an unbelievable sight. My POA mare had somehow pulled a Houdini and escaped her pen! She had a blast and I followed her poo and tracks all over. She was jumping snowbanks and having a great time all night.

I am so glad she let me easilly catch her this morning though as she is the one I posted about awhile ago being hard to catch at first.

Now the amazing part....

I searched and searched for HOW she could have gotten out

There was no way she escaped any other way than jumping!

The thing is that she was in a pen that was a small area and it was made of 5 ft tall roundpen panels and cattle panels that are well over 4 ft off the ground. I am no expert on what is considered a "big jump" but for this little mare that is 13.3 hh I would say it was quite a hike! Especially when she had no room to gain momentum!

No way she could have gotten under or through either. There was no evidence in the snow to suggest that.

I think I may have to take jumping lessons as I could have a little star om my hands! lol

She also did not have a mark on her thank goodness.

Here she is. She is really pretty but The pics do not do her any favors . She really has been a joy to own and I wish I had her years ago. I am going to have so much fun with her come summer!

Interestingly horses jump from a standstill when in the wild and I have seen horses escaping from a field doing this too. However jumping through a hedge is a little different to jumping out of your pen! fantasic!
