My horse was very sick for a long time. He got phenomena and was diagnosed with Emphysema. We are lucky to still have him, he's starting to recover after a long agonizing wait. He will be kept our 24/7 now all the time. Which is the best we can do him. I took him for a ride yesterday and we had our first trot in a very long time. He was a bit blowy so i pulled him back to a walk, he was fine after that. The thing is, he's only 6 and being an ex-racer he is so full of energy. He loves jumping and was wondering if (not now but some time in the future) i could get him jumping. I'm very lucky to still have him, many people who have horses with emphysema can't ride them at all. So I'm lucky. But we both love jumping so much i was wondering if it was possible. If i do start umping him in the future i will put him on a supplement to steady his breathing.
I'm not someone who only wants to ride, i value him very very much, i was just hoping i could do something we both love. He will never be sold regardless of his riding abilities.
Advice?
