My horse has just started jumping. Only quite small and not loads as I want her to keep on enjoying it. She's 10 but never done it before for various reasons. My question is - should I be putting boots on her yet (and if so, which sort)? She's never worn boots so she'd have to get used to that too. She's not shod. She doesn't wear boots for schooling/dressage.

Any advice?

If she isn't shod and is only jumping tiny I'd just leave boots off if she isn't used to the to be honest. Usually I boot shod horses doing fast work or if the get silly or excited and are likely to injure themselves

If she's never worn them then I wouldn't bother unless you go xc. Tbh, riding without boots can make then more careful IME as they feel it more if they hit a pole.
