Just wondered how qualification to thes Championships of Great Britain (held at the David Broome Event Centre) works. It says that all double clears qualify, surely that means that about 2,000 people turn up to the Championships?!

So has anyone been to the Championships, and if so what's it like?
If all double clears do qualify, I am hoping to have a go.

I went last summer and am off to the winter league finals next month.

Its true that all double clears qualify i did the 2ft6 last year on the senior weekend and there were 85 in my class.

I think that there were about 400 horses there.

It was so much fun and definately worth the money which imo is excellent value for money. £85 for 5 competitions, stabling and lorry parking/tent pitching and the bar and resturant were reletively cheap too.

Im off at the end of april and have qualified for the 3ft

If you qualify and can get there go !!!
I absoloutley love it up there

I spend most my time up the

And numbers are limited so you dont get millions to a class around 90

and everyone is suuuper friendly

Ooo sounds really good, have only just found out about it when I was looking on a venue's website.
If I'd known about them a while ago I could have tried to qualify for April.
May try for the summer champs then, because I don't know of any venues that would hold an event in time to qualify for April, and entries may have already closed for qualification I'm guessing?

I'd email and find out but the less 'popular' heights arent always jammed packed full and might still have spaces . I still want to qual. for an extra class so fingerts Xs'd

The classes are still open where in the country are you we are holding our last qualifier on 29th march.

What height would you want to do?

If you go on the seniors weekend there are spaces available in all classes whereas the juniors are all full.

I would want to do either 2ft9 or 3ft.
I'm based in surrey.
I would do the seniors as I'm 16 and I think that juniours are under 16, ie 15 years and younger, so I am a senior if I'm correct about that?

champs of GB and Winter league are fab, have done both, chillier for Winter League but summer champs were great. You dont get 2000 as you have to pre-enter once you have your double clear and classes are closed when full. If you are a junior be quick to get your entry in, seniors have a bit more time!

Wicked weekends always, my oldie came 1st in his last round there and ditched me in the other qualifying round!! was great time tho!!

Off again in August as have another championship in April so it clashes, definately recommend it.

PS. Juniors cant enter the over 35 classes!! THANK GOD!
