I have an eight year old 15.3hh ex hurdler who is just coming back from an injury. Hes now cantering and due to start jumping soon. Earlier this year i did abit of jumping with him and took him to a few pc showjumping rallies. He is very talented, never stops and very rarely touchs a pole. The problem is he often still jumps things like they are hurdles! Which is very uncomfortable! And i guess as the jumps go higher he won't be able to get away with it like he does now over smaller jumps. I have an instructor but due to both him and me being very busy i only have lessons occasionally.
I've only taken up jumping since i got this guy, as i only do dressage with my pony. So I was wondering if you could offer me some advice please and some exercises to use for him? Along with the distance between poles etc.
Thank you!
