Oh dear god I am terrified of them....don't know what it is (apart from being jumped off at one in my first Riding Club outing with Sid) but arrived into the arena last night to see that instructor has set one up.....eeeek!
we had a bounce then two one stride fences, she had deliberately set them up quite tight to really make the neddies work - and the riders!
By the end of the lesson and once I got over myself & Sid realised I was just there to set him up and keep him straight he finally decided that he was capable of doing some work! Last time out she set up an nice 90 cm spread to jump after the grid, all I am really focussing on is really riding the canter and two strides out I tensed slightly and he wavered and stuck in a short one....the good thing was I recognised I did it though so next time around we jumped it really nicely....I swear every time I get up on him I realise how good a horse he is for me - he MAKES me get it right !
