Been for a jumping lesson today, I broke my ankle really badly in April & had to have it pinned & plated. Was in plaster for 6 weeks, back riding 10 days after the plaster came off & jumping little jumps gingerly 3 weeks after. Have had 3 sj lessons since back riding, the first he was very gentle, little x poles as ankle still very stiff, the second not so gentle & some bigger individual fences, today "proper" jumps, OMG I was shaking & very scared indeed, I asked him to put them down a bit, the reply was "You can either pay me £40 now & I'm going back indoors, or you can achieve something today" I girded my loins & it was all ok untill he introduced this gate type filler thing on a related distance, jumped part 1 but steered her round it, he went nuts, I cried & told him how scared I was, but then took some deep breaths & jumped it foot perfect several times. Then proceeded to join them all together in a course, it was great, I then got a "well done, those last couple of rounds were good" praise indeed from the master!! I'm so glad I trusted him enough to let him push me, & we did achieve loads, though don't agree with his statement that the ankle should be fine now, its loads better, but still painful & not working fully. Going again next week, hopefully won't burst into tears, he obviously can't cope!!!
