Jumping on the sofa

I am looking after a friends dog for 8 months while they go travelling and it keeps going on my sofa! It won't do it while I'm there but while I'm in bed when I get up I find it on there! It drives me insane! It Knocks off anything I put on the sofa to stop it gettin up there!

It lives outdoors in the day but inside of a night and has a bed on the floor which it seems happy enough to sleep on while I'm around!
 
Did his owners let him on there sofa? My guess yes they did.
Give it time but sadly if your not there to tell him off not sure how you can stop it.
Your a good friendly take there dog for them to go travelling- shame they didn't realise a dog is a commitment which means you cant just up and leave- pops a bug bear of mine.
 
Yeah I think they did let her on - she has white hair it drives me mad - maybe I'll just buy a throw for my couch instead - I just tell her to get off and she's straight down!

I don't mind they've gone travelling - my best friend looked after my dog for 12 months when I went - but I lived with her so it wasn't really an upheaval for my dog!

Unfortunately I have an open plan unit - so only door is between bedroom and lounge room! I will by a throw for the sofa - and just keep telling her to get off if I catch her up there
 
I take it she has an alternative (large) comfy bed) to lie on?
You could introduce a crate and this way you will definitely makes sure she does not get on the settee.
