can anyone please tell me what dimensions a jumping pole should be?

Ive been told I can help myself to tyres at the local garage, so I thought if I get enough I could use them for wings (stacked) and fillers.... but I dont have any poles.... so next port of call is a sawmill.

Anyone else got any other tips or ideas?

I know you can use cones... but I only ever managed to erm... get one, before I wimped out!

Hi, I got some poles from my sawmill 4" and 6" thick ones cost about £4/pole.
Managed to get loads of various size barrels too and when I get chance! am going to fasten a baton to the side of them with holes for jump cups - think it may work

At the moment I can do different size jumps by laying them down standing them up etc.
I got a load of tyres too but to be honest dont use them that much as afraid of horsey putting one of her clumpy hooves in it and us doing a somersault!
If you have a freecycle.co.uk website in your area ask on there for barrels, drums, wood etc - I love that site!
have fun!

I buy my poles at the sawmill at 7 pounds each. Then i went to metal merchants and picked up old oil drums , then used the barrel jumps cups you get from Robinsons .
A nice lick of paint and they look fab.
