well, after tonights antics ( in New Lounge) we went indoor jumping at indoor arena ( duh!). decided to to the 90 and 1m, as the 1m10 lasts to late into the night
we arrived at 6.45, as assumed that it started at 6.30pm... how wrong we where! when we arrived there was no-one there - the lights were off in the warm up and the course wasnt even built!!
my friend was jumping her new pony in the 1st class, the 70cm, and other neighbour was jumping in it too with her green as grass horse! so i had nothing to do for ages so i offered to build the course! so off i went with the measuring stick and put them up to 70cm
soon after it started, and friends pony went well, if a little slow at the end as she was tired. neighbours horse jumped better and better, and had a few bucks!
had to wait for the 80cm to finish, and then the 90cm! YO decided that we had to jump wach others in that class, and then swap back in the 1m. so off i popped from my 16.2 to a 14.2!! we jumped well, and i sat back when he started to back off and we didnt stop at any
was a really nice round i thought. however, we may have stood off a few as the striding is a little different
friend coped well with my horse, and got him going (he is a lazy bugger!) and jumped nicely. so then we switched, and i popped the warmup and then into 1m class.
oh, both friend and i got double clears
we had decided that we were going to try a new style of jumping, that i would give him a loose rein and keep him going, and let him sort it out for himself.
well, it was the best round that we have ever done! he was fluid and in a good rythmn, and he was the quickest he has ever been in front! he was really basculing, and sorting himself out, with me acting as the pushing passenger!!
so we are going to try that out for the dengie comp on sat night, to see if he prefers that way of jumping
oh, forgot to say, friend jumped nice round only to have 1 down in the 1m class and i went double clear
