Ok well i have never ridden in anything but a gp saddle, never competed enough to do so, now im going to buy a jumping saddle or close contact saddle (nt sure on the difference) anyhow iv always had jeffries gp saddles (second hand) but always fitted by saddler and find they fit my mare very well, anyway just wondered if there is any recommendations from anyone on comfortable leather jumping saddles, was tempted by the falcon hawk event but would like to maybe try something other than jeffries for a change, anyhow i nw it will have to fit my mare i will have it fitted, also should i stick with a deeper seat? will i find it too much of a change with a flat seat ?

ty everyone

I honestly hope you are typing from an iPhone/similar :D

Simple - ring your saddle fitter, ask him/her to bring a selection of jumping saddles. Monoflap, normal, whatever you can affford.... Most jumping saddles have a flatter seat anyway, wouldn't be much point in having a deep one I imagine?

sory so use to txt n gt 3 year old all over me lol, yes saddle fitter will come with the usual, crap third hand stuff or brand new £1200 plus, i kinda just wondered if anyone could recommend some saddles that i could mention to fitter , or i could to take a few from saddles direct to try, but as stated previously have nt ridden in jump saddle so was just after anyones own experience of saddles they use to jump in ! also ones that may be a similar fit (tree etc)to jeffries !

I'm not sure about trees tbh, but I would take a look online at what might be in your price range firstly!
I personally loves my Bates Caprilli - moveable knee blocks were really handy, and was less than £600 off ebay second hand! I've also had a Sabre though, totally different and equally as comfortable (though I only left the ground in it twice I think?!)
