Hi all... I'm looking for a second hand jump saddle and just wondered if anyone had any recommendations?
I do really like mono flap saddles, but after all the carry on I've had with my current saddle I just want something that fits my horse and feels secure to jump/hack in.
Been looking at Albion K2 jump and Kontact lite and also a few Black Country saddles... Any thoughts on these?
Thanks in advance

Its so personal to you and your horse that i'm not sure anyone can recommend without seeing you both.

i love really close contact saddles but my mare doesn't really so i have had to conpromise.

have you got a local saddler who can bring out a huge range of saddles for you to try?

when i got my new jump saddle a few weeks ago we tried about 15 different saddles before settling on the one i bought.

You need to try some and see how you get on. I'd second the suggestion of finding a local saddler who has several you can try.

I love Albion saddles and did look for a K2 jump but they just don't seem to come up for sale second hand, or when they do they are stupidly expensive. I set out looking for Albion or Ideal but have ended up actually with a Henri de Rivell (it's a close contact but I think it's an "event" rather than jump, so the blocks aren't huge). I absolutely adore it - it was a total bargain and it's so comfortable to ride in. I found that it really helps my position when jumping and I feel really secure in it. Horse is also really happy in it, much more so than the dressage saddle I had which was refitted 3 or 4 times in 9 months and cost me a fortune (and is now sold!!).

I too have been looking for a jump saddle.
And yes, had set my heart on an Albion K2 jump. Had even earmarked one on ebay.....but went to sit on one at a saddlers on saturday, and found that yes, it was realy comfy, but i just could not get my knees up as high as i wanted to. The knee pad, just not in the right place for me. If i wanted to ride in the shoulder, hip ankle alignment, then it would have been perfect, but i'm a bit old school and need a bigger bend of knee.
Tried the jefferies jump saddle, but that did not have big enough knee rolls.
Saddler suggested that i look towards the Albion Kontrol or Albion close contact.

I have butet for sale which is lovely.. this is thier webby http://www.sederholmselected.co.uk/category_s/24.htm Its not mono flap, but its an absoloutley gorgeous saddle:
