my milton saddle is latex filled and is beyond any adjustment, i am looking at a diiferent saddle and wondered what you all thought about saddles you have had, i like a fairly flat seat and the milton has only small blocks which suit me any ideas thanks

i used pessoas on all the hunt horses in US - and loved them
now i have M2M and highly recommend them - cos you can have anything you want ;)

If L wasn't such a "broad" person, you could have tried her equipe on J... would agree with Millitiger that the Pessoa's are lovely, but there are so many different "types" of pessoa, some of them really only fit a small no. of horses!

The new miltons are gorgeous, as is the new "merlin" barnsby saddle that Nicola has in at Vale. Are you looking second hand or new? Would you go single flap?

I've got the pessoa XP3, which has adjustable gullet, adjustable and different sized blocks, and is a combination of foam and flocked panel.
Plus it's a lovely colour (I'm easily pleased!)

I have a lementex which I have been very pleased with. Not a saddle I would have normally chosen, but it was the one that best suited my horse, and thats my priority - and now I have it, I actually quite like it :)

thanks kate as usual its trying stuff to see if it fits the saddle market is peanuts for 2nd hand and a new one is going to be next year so i have not many options at mo apart from 2nd hand, the jeffries looks similar to the milton toni had a pessoa and it went with pony she sold, think i will run him up to vv and try some on am going this afto to see what they have in, oh joy.

Worth nipping upto Byrons and trying an Excelle single flap. He has one in the same for £650 I think new. If it doesn't fit, you can just send it back :) He also has a Harry Dabbs (I think that looked good on Jack when I tried it on Godders) and a pessoa :)

Ive got a barnsby really comfy. Have also ridden in a prestige which was nice but my saddle fitter didnt recommend them but he said the equipes are good.

thank you all have looked at the saddles at vv the new barnsbys are lovely she also has a very nice jeffries in which i must admit every one i have seen the leather looks fab, not sure on the models and which is which think will go to website and check them out, thanks kate can you pm me a contact no or address for the people you were on about, i have looked at the flocked milton, dont think funds can stretch at moment only 2nd hand

If it helps (assuming you mean a flocked Barnsby Milton?) I got mine second hand for £700 (half new price) from Bridlepath International - and if you are looking at VV, you can't be far from me, and they come to my yard regularly.

They seem to sell alot of Barnsbys so might have one in stock, or could keep an eye out for you?

Hi, I have two Frank Baines jumping saddles, I have had them a good few years now, and what is great about them is that they will custom flaps etc to suit you. They are fairly flat in the seat, closer contact type. One of the saddles has been used on three different horses as they will change tree and flocking to suit each horse, you just send saddle back with a template, would highly recommend :)

i ride in a bates momentum which is lovely, small movable blocks, ultra flat seat and adjustable width with cair panels which my horse seems to get on with very well! it certainly seems to have sorted my wandering lower leg out jumping too!

thanks to all comments as usual its getting a variety to try ive tried 3 different barnsbyssame size and width and only 1 was right as different models, my milton and previous saddle was from peter at bridlepath and i do think hes a great sadlle fitter ,but very expensive compared to e bay if you can find the right model ,going to try as many as can beg locally and go from there thanks
