I'm currently riding the big lad in a Bates Caprilli CC and my lower back is not very happy so I'm looking to change it for something else now that he's stopped growing.

I've been having a look and I've seen a few that sound like they would fit the bill. Has anyone ever had any of the following and what did you think of it?

-Albion Kontrol (deep)
-Pessoa Legacy Heritage Pro
-Prestige Arezzo D

Obviously I will be speaking to my saddler before I make a decision. :)

If you have a look for the thread asking about the Kontrol saddle you might pick up some tips from it. I posted as photo of one perched on my youngster, clearly showing how the tree is totally wrong for him. It seems to fit high withered horses who don't have a big shoulder.

I have just got a Prestige Arezzo D and i loooovee it! :D Very supportive and puts me in a good position and allows me to sit up and in rather than tip, horse goes very nicely in it as it allows room for his shoulders. Happy all round :)

Thanks for that :)

A friend has a K2 and he's very kindly letting me borrow it so I can see what it's like.

My saddler thinks the Kontrol would be a good option as well but I'd like to see one before I part with any money.

Be guided by your saddler. When we wanted new saddles we thought, like you, of what saddles we would like to have. Unfortunately, a bit like riding hats, you can't always get the model you want because it just isn't going to fit you. Saddles are very similar. If you trust your saddler he will steer you to the right saddle for you & your horse, because after all it's got to fit both of you.

Good Luck. :)

oh, I agree totally :)

Donald is coming out to check all of my horses next week anyways so I'll talk to him again before we make any decisions.

Just thought it was worth having a look at my friend's K2 because our horses are very similarly built.
