I have a Stubben jumping saddle which fits the beast well and he seams happy in it. It keeps me in a good, secure position.

Its an old saddle and needs reflocking and a some stitching repairs. It is also a heavy saddle.

My question is should I have the work done to it or swop it for a cheap jumping saddle (wintec CC). Is the fact that it is quite heavy a major issue? He is a very fit active TB that has a correct bascule, so need something to keep me secure.

I would stay with the leather one. If he is happy with it, and you are, then why fix what ain't broke? I don't think the synthetic saddles give such a good feel as a proper leather one. Invest in your current saddle, it will last for longer, and keep its value better.

Was kind of hoping everyone would say keep it!

It doesn't weigh anyomre than an average older saddle, but just wondered if a lighter (but less quality) saddle would be better.

Im a bit obsessed with the weight of tack. Im the werido that gets freaked out using sport medicine boots for XC as they retain water and get heavy!!

I have just got a wintec, and i would say it is just as heavy as my old leather saddle. Love it though

If your horse is happy in the saddle you have, got keep it
