Around the riding school, there are lots of these plants in pots and growing as trees---I'm not sure if it's juniper, or cypress...whatever it is, the Spooky Pony has an irritating habit of trying to eat it. He seems absolutely mad about the stuff, and today, he managed to strip off a sizable twig while my back was turned. Is this stuff poisonous?

I very much doubt it. From recollection neither are particularly toxic to horses, from memory... *toddles off to go and check* Juniper (as in gin) is generally used as a detox / diuretic and generally regarded as safe...

Cypress - astringent, antiseptic, antispasmodic, deodorant, diuretic.

Pretty sure that the school would have checked toxicity, but worth a mention to put your mind at rest.
