Decided to post here too as many more peeps reading;):D

Now that Penny and Chas have settled a bit and made themselves familiar with their surroundings, I started letting them out into the yard to mooch about...
My question is about exercise - for the best way to lose weight, is it better to let them just freely explore the property with maybe 1 longer walk a day? Or is more structured approach advisable?

I would think it's easier to start with free-range and 1 walk to build up gradually with what they feel capable of being they're overweight and not used to it. When we got our rescue oldie, he wasn't very fit, and we started with short walks and free range at home, and he soon got fit.

Thankies:)
they managed 2 walks today and a bit of mooching about round the yard and paddocks, judging by the lack of whinging noises coming from the barn - it was more than enough:D
