Just a rant about rude, sarcastic seller!

I would reply telling her of course i plan to make a profit....thats a pretty fundamental part of any business. That ll boil her wee wee.

There are some strange folk on e bay.

I got a message from someone a few days ago (Ive had no prior contact with this person before).

It just said "have you any hay for sale?".

I have to say (although I've never confronted anyone on it), it normally annoys the hell out of me when someone waves me past a horse.
I've no problem with a slow down wave, or asking me to wait til horse settles/wave past when they're comfortable and will always do the same (nice for a driver to know you've noticed them).

But the number around here who will happily wave me frantically past whilst I'm going round a corner  I will never understand why they think it's better to overtake because they can see, than me wait to get round the corner onto an open road with passing places!

It is polite to signal you are safe to pass. I wasn't waving frantically I was being polite and signalling it was safe to pass the horse I'd just asked them to slow down for. There was nothing frantic about. Their choice whether or not to pass. I am just signalling the horse is safe to pass. Incidentally we were on a straight clear road.

On the roads round here (have been hacking and driving them long enough) there are far more sensible places (and lots of them) to overtake on than a blind bend.

Round my way, you wouldn't believe how many drivers have passed me on both my horse and my bike on blind bends. The bigger the car, the smaller the brain behind the hands on the steering wheel so I've actually spent more time waving people to wait than pass. I wouldn't dream of waving someone to actually pass me on the bend, just that I can see around it before they can and that it will be safe for them to pass me once they are around it too.

Had to laugh a couple of weekends ago when I was cycling up quite a steep hill on a very narrow lanel. Up comes the big BMW behind me and revved furiously. No way could I move over so I moved out a bit more to keep them behind me for everyone's safety. Eventually they got to a slightly wider bit, went to pass me and promptly stalled the car then couldn't restart the engine. Ha - numpty!

Hope she swallows her embarressment & sends it to you in time.

I put an advert on preloved a couple of years ago, & started getting pestering messages from a woman wanting to sell a trotter. Not sure why she would email a stranger who was advertising something connected to eventing asking them if they wanted to buy a trotter. I have no connection with trotting, never owned a trotter or had the slightest interest in trotting (actually don't like it). When I said no (was polite) to her, got repeated messages getting nastier. Eventually got rid of her by listing her as a banned contact so she couldn't send me a message. Wierd woman.

I'd be a bit worried about the seller reading this and deliberately not sending your body protector out in time for the weekend, just to be difficult.

There are some nutters on eBay.

I while ago I advertised a girth, I measured it at 110cm, so 43" ish. I had a message asking if was 44" I said no, it's 110cm. They said was I sure and could I re-measure it? I did and replied that it was indeed still 110cm as stated in the listing. They didn't buy it.

Another odd one was the buyer of a carrot stick I was selling for someone else. They desperately wanted to know if it was genuine, I said as far as I was aware it was but as it wasn't mine, I couldn't be sure. They bought it but continued to message me asking questions about it . I'm so glad I stated no returns!!

People are so ridiculous!!

When I was selling an individual stable on ebay I had a picture up that happened to have my horse in it. Got tonnes of messages all asking me how much I wanted for the horse. No one ever bought the stable! Le sigh.

So what if you were actually selling the bp you bought on ebay????!!!!! :p I have had a couple of problem buyers on ebay this year (the sort that buy your item then change their mind, set up a dispute with whatever crap they can think of to get a refund ) There is always going to be difficult people out there whether they be buyers or sellers :(

Ah well, if it wasn't a genuine carrot stick, it wouldn't work, would it. (Also I see you are keen to distance yourself from it - selling for a friend!. He He only teasing.)

I was wondering that but It's here!!! Lovely BP looks brand new.

Am still planning my wording of negative feedback though as there has been no response to my message, shame she's spoilt her 100% feedback record over something so unnecessary.

I could understand it if I'd bought hers for £50 and listed mine for say £70 but potentially mine could sell for 99p!! and after ebay and paypal fees there's not a lot of profit to be made on reselling stuff.

Buyers can be as bad! I sold a bit a few weeks ago and had listed the whole manufacturers description which included 'This mullen shape has a generous forward curve'. Had a message nearly 2 weeks after they'd received the item asking if i'd refund as they weren't expecting it to be as curved!!!! Erm, no! Apart from putting a picture on and full description, they'd clearly tried it and decided it wasn't right for the horse so were essentially trying to use me as a free bit bank!

I think negative feedback. You are feeding back on the whole buying experience, not just whether or not they posted it quickly. Plus, you clearly don't feel 'neutral' about it as you were (rightly) annoyed enough to come on here and post about it. Plus, she didn't send a reply to your explanation apologising for jumping the gun.

As an ebay seller myself I would never speak to anyone like that! If you buy something, it's your business what you do with it.

Absolutely negative feedback!!

If you went into a shop and the sales adviser was rude, would you accept it was ok because the product itself was right?

It's why I don't do ebay these days. Was selling a caravan and had loads of grief about it....someone was was even 'gonna come and kick your face in!' coz I wouldn't end the sale early to sell it a third of the price it was currently bidding at!

I replied 'come on then...I'm waiting!'...

Never heard another thing....

:D

A while ago I was selling a used white saddlecloth on ebay. I described it as "well used, a bit discoloured and a bit bobbled - not suitable for competition use but ok for everyday use". The buyer left feedback which said "ok - not as good as described"! Not on one part of my ad did I describe it as "good". So I left feedback which said "Which part of well used, bobbled and discoloured did you fail to understand?". Ebay - always opportunity for revenge - I never leave feedback until someone has left it for me first.....

In defence, there are some lovely buyers (and sellers) out there. I sold an optimum time stopwatch for eventing.
The person who bought it was an absolute delight to deal with. When I posted it I sent her a message telling her it was posted and that I hoped it was as lucky for her as it had been for me. We then had a little bit of an EBay message conversation about our horses etc.
After her competition I dropped her a message to find out how she had got on and she gave me a fab report.

It made me feel very happy and reassured me that not all EBay buyers are mad!

I find most people on ebay really friendly which is why I was so shocked with this seller, especially as I had sent her a very jovial request about her BP. this was my original message..............

"Don't suppose you would consider a Buy It Now please? I have XC next weekend and my current body protector is too long, bangs on my saddle and nearly ejects me into orbit!!"

I found eBay very odd and now they seem to be on preloved as well.... They either want to cheek you asking what your lowest price is. If selling I always set a fair price for my excess stuff.

Some weird sellers on Preloved too! I recently enquired about some items I was interested in that had no price listed and very little info and got one word answers on a series of messages. I found it very rude and told them I wouldn't be buying from them.
